NewsBank Archive of Americana

The Archive of Americana provides convenient online access to the printed record of four centuries of American history. It offers wide-ranging documents – including newspapers, imprints, maps, government publications and much more – on hundreds of subjects and allows students to read first-hand accounts that reveal what early American life was really like. Taking students far beyond the textbook and selective, commonly used primary source documents, the Archive of Americana, enables teachers to provide their students with new understandings of the issues and beliefs that shaped every aspect of this country over its critical first centuries.
